Imagine the Petronas Twin Towers sliding open to serve you a refreshing drink instead of a city view. That’s the innovative premise of this Nescafé mixed reality ad featuring its new Espresso Concentrate range. The video unfolds as the scene opens on a wide view of the Petronas Twin Towers, where the middle sections of both towers glide apart to reveal two Nescafé bottles, one Espresso Concentrate Sweet Vanilla Latte and the other Espresso Concentrate Black, while a cool mist gently flows out from the openings and a text overlay appears saying “There’s a New Hack for Iced Coffee,” before a giant hand reaches in, grabs the Sweet Vanilla bottle and the camera zooms in as the hand sets it down on a countertop next to a bottle of milk and a glass filled with ice cubes, accompanied by another on-screen line that reads “Just pour it over milk and ice,” clearly showcasing Nescafé’s simple new method for making iced coffee at home. Using distinctive computer generated graphics, this Nescafé mixed reality ad transforms an iconic city skyline into an engaging product showcase.
