Private work
Keep finished work that can't be public, such as NDA work, on FOOH without putting it on your profile.
Some of your best work can't be public: a campaign under NDA, white-label work, a launch that hasn't happened yet. Private work is the place for it on FOOH.
Who can see private work
Only you, the people you share it with, and FOOH's moderation team. A private work never appears on your profile, in the library, in search or in the ranking, and nobody can find it by its link. Anyone else who opens the link, signed in or not, gets a "page not found".
Private work is reviewed and moderated like public work, because it is still hosted on FOOH. That's why the moderation team can see it.
Making a work private
In the work editor, pick Private under Who can see it, then save with Save as private in the top bar. A private work needs the same things as a public one: at least one image or video, at least one work type, and a brand and a year for a client project.
A work moves freely between Draft, Private and Public. When the campaign launches, switch it to Public and it goes on your profile.
A work you've entered in a challenge can't be made private while the challenge runs.
Finding your private work
Your work list has two tabs: Public (your live work and drafts) and Private. Open a private work's card to see its page the way the people you share it with will see it. The page has no share button, and nobody can like it, save it or comment on it. Each card also shows where the piece is shared (see below).
Sharing private work in a conversation
Private work is made to be shared with the people who need to see it. In any conversation, press Share work: your private pieces have their own Private section in the sheet, and you can mix them with public pieces in one card. You can also upload a new piece straight from the sheet and choose Private under Who can see it (it uses one of your free private pieces).
- In the card, a private piece carries a Private tag.
- The people in that conversation can open it on its normal page. The page has no share button and no link out, and they can't like, save or comment on it.
- Anyone else, signed in or not, still gets "page not found", even with the link.
Where it's shared, and Stop sharing
On the Private tab of your work list, each private piece lists the conversations it's shared in, with the name of the person and the date you last shared it there.
Press Stop sharing next to a conversation to take the piece back from it:
- Its tile in that conversation's cards reads removed by creator. The rest of the card stays as it was.
- The people in that conversation can no longer open it: its link answers "page not found".
- Your other conversations aren't affected, and the piece stays private and yours. If you share it in that conversation again later, they can see it again.
Stopping sharing doesn't change your free private pieces.
10 free private pieces a year
You can make 10 works private for free each calendar year. The Private tab shows how many you have left, for example "7 of 10 free private pieces left this year".
- Each work that becomes private uses one piece, whether you upload it as private or move it from Public or Draft.
- Deleting a private work doesn't give the piece back, and neither does making it public. Moving it back to Private later uses another piece.
- When all 10 are used, the tab says so, and new works can't be made private until 1 January, when you get 10 more.
- Running out never touches the work that's already private: it stays private, and you can keep editing it.
