Saving work as a draft

How drafts work and how to publish or unpublish an entry.

Every new work item starts as a draft. Nothing is public until you choose to publish, so you can build a page over several sittings without it showing up anywhere.

Saving and publishing

The editor's sticky top bar handles this. For a new item you get two buttons:

  • Save as draft — keeps it private and lets you come back later.
  • Publish — makes it live on your profile and in the library.

Once an entry is published, the same bar shows Save changes and Unpublish instead. Use Unpublish to pull a live entry back to draft — handy if you want to rework it without leaving the old version up.

Spotting your drafts

On your work list, draft entries carry a Draft badge so you can tell at a glance what's still private. Drafts don't appear on your public profile, in the library, or in search until you publish them.

There's no separate publish checkbox anywhere — publishing is always the button in the top bar. For the rest of the editor, see The work editor explained.
