Making something impossible happen on camera is no longer enough to make a great FOOH ad.

4,570 FOOH campaigns. Only 19.05% qualify as High Performers or Elite.

And now, 21 campaigns have taken Gold, Silver, or Bronze at the FOOH Awards 2026.

Thousands of CGI campaigns now compete for attention online, and audiences have already seen products grow to the size of buildings, landmarks transform, and objects take over city streets. The technical bar has risen with them.

So, what does award-winning mixed reality ads look like in 2026?

The FOOH Awards 2026 put that question to a six-person jury with experience across CGI, VFX, creative direction, filmmaking, and digital art:

Together, the jury selected 21 Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners across seven categories, with seven campaigns taking Gold.

Here are all 21 Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners of the FOOH Awards 2026, plus a closer look at what made each Gold campaign stand out.

1. The 7 Gold Winners of the FOOH Awards 2026

Seven categories produced seven Gold winners at the FOOH Awards 2026. While the campaigns span very different industries, the winning ideas share a clear strength: the CGI supports the message instead of becoming the entire message.

Each campaign takes something recognizable about the brand, product, or event and turns it into a visual idea that can be understood within seconds. Here are the seven campaigns that took Gold.

1. BMW × Haut CGI — Automotive

BMW and Haut CGI send the BMW iX3 across a snowy alpine landscape, where its tire tracks reveal “Happy Season” and the BMW logo.

2. Primark × adam+gary — Fashion

Primark’s candy cane-striped shopping bag becomes a giant character walking through London, leaving a trail of warm light behind it before reaching a decorated Primark store.

3. Lidl × Forgotten Creative Technology Studio — Food & Beverage

Lidl’s Gold winner follows Nikos Kal trying to get an enormous box of Deluxe Halva home. The package travels on a shopping cart before eventually ending up strapped to the roof of his car because it won't fit inside.

4. InterMed × CGWORKS — Health & Beauty

CGWORKS starts with an InterMed Luxurious Sun Care bottle displayed on a billboard. The bottle emerges from the ad and dispenses drops onto pedestrians, creating artificial sun shields above them.

5. Disney Studios × Substance Global — Media & Entertainment

For the Lilo & Stitch premiere, Substance Global has Stitch arrive by crashing a spacecraft into the event. He takes over the premiere before eventually sitting down with popcorn to watch the movie.

6. Ryder Cup × adam+gary — Sports

A New York subway train opens its doors and releases thousands of golf balls onto the platform in this adam+gary’s Ryder Cup campaign. US and European flags appear on the balls, with an enormous golf ball following behind them.

7. Discover Airlines × rendersnek — Travel & Hospitality

rendersnek turns an airport departure lounge into a vacation attraction for Discover Airlines. Passengers dressed for the beach queue for a giant water slide beneath the message, “Your Vacation Starts Now.”

The water slide gives that line a literal visual interpretation. Instead of waiting until passengers reach their destination to introduce the holiday feeling, the campaign brings it into the airport. The vacation gear seen throughout the scene helps establish the idea early, so the final water-slide reveal feels connected to what has already been happening in the terminal.

What the 2026 Winners Tell Us About Viral CG Advertising

The seven Gold winners point to a higher creative bar for mixed reality advertising. Strong CGI still matters, but the winning campaigns show that the concept behind it matters more.

1. Bigger doesn't automatically mean better

Primark, Lidl, and Ryder Cup all use oversized objects, but scale isn't the whole idea. Each campaign gives that scale a purpose through movement, humor, or interaction with the environment.

2. The product needs a reason to be there

The strongest concepts are difficult to separate from the product. InterMed visualizes SPF protection, BMW uses the iX3 to create its message in the snow, and Discover Airlines turns “Your Vacation Starts Now” into the actual experience.

3. Simple ideas still work

A car writes in snow. Golf balls flood a subway. An airport becomes a water slide. The Gold winners use concepts viewers can understand within seconds, which makes them well suited to short-form feeds.

4. The brand stays part of the idea

The winning campaigns make the brand difficult to forget. Primark uses its recognizable bag, BMW centers the vehicle, and Disney builds its campaign around Stitch’s personality. The FOOH ad gets attention while the brand gives viewers something to remember.
