Giant Athletics Equipment Rains Down on City
Birmingham 2026 - One Week to Go
For the first time ever, the European Athletics Championships came to the UK, and we helped celebrate the ‘One Week to Go’ milestone with this FOOH advert sees a variety of track and field apparatus to the streets in dramatic fashion, with all 3D animation, compositing, edit and sound design completed in-house, accompanied by the brilliant Birmingham 2026 track from Abi Flynn.
The video opens with 3 quick scenes of Birmingham City Centre, where a supersized javelin is flying through the air. It lands dramatically outside the Town Hall, splitting the ground as it embeds, and only just missing some pedestrians nearby, who start to take photos of it.
We then see a top-down view of a busy street as a massive shot put flies above. It continues past other Birmingham landmarks, before coming down outside the famous Library with an almighty crash, leaving a crater in the ground and pedestrians near scatter away in amazement.
We then see the icon Birmingham Bullring Shopping Centre, where a large discus flies overhead, casting a shadow as it goes. It then comes to land with a lound metallic screech on top of the famous Birmingham Rotunda.
Finally we take a trip to the Gas Street Basin area in Birmingham, where a huge athletics hammer is sailing through the air. It's seen in reflection on the water and flying over bridges, before it lands with a huge splash in the water! Passers-by are amazed at what they saw.
